Questions, Not Answers...? | Letter to a Friend #19
Howzit friend!
I just made a super raw, spontaneous video on anger and exercise. I didn't plan it at all, was just running, had a visceral realization about why I workout, and realized I should make a video documenting my experience, even if only for myself.
Here it is:
While the video still doesn't have many views, I've gotten more people reaching out to me giving their thoughts and engaging with me about the topic than maybe any other video (other than the whole meme fiasco, of course).
This has me thinking: What is the actual point in this whole content creation thing? I thought it was supposed to be about giving lessons to people. I thought that was how you "provide value" and get subscribers. And I think that is still true.
Yet, I think there's another way to provide value: To make people think, and to show them they're not alone. This feels much more aligned with my intention, which is to be vulnerable about my own experiences and share my own life journey as openly as I can, in the hopes of strengthening relationships and inspiring in some way, shape, or form.
So, in the spirit of asking questions, I'm asking you: Why do you subscribe to this newsletter? Why do you watch my videos? Yeah, we're friends, but I have plenty of friends who aren't on here. Why are you?
I'd greatly appreciate any thoughts.🙂
Check out the video if you want! I'm late again on this newsletter, but I ain't letting it die! This whole content creation is the long-term play, but it's definitely tough to keep going alongside everything else.
Thank you for reading!!
Until next time,
Ryan
